Bread Kofta Curry

Ingredients

Bread
- 6 slices
•
Potatoes
- 4
•
Red chilly powder
- 1 teaspoon

Salt

Water (for soaking bread)

Ingredients For Making Curry
•
Oil
- 6 tablespoons
•
Onions (finely chopped)
- 2
•
Red chilly powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Turmeric powder
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Salt
- 1 teaspoon
•
Curd
- 2 tablespoons
•
Tomatoes (finely chopped)
- 8
•
Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
- 1 bunch
Ingredients For Filling
•
Oil
- 2 tablespoons
•
Onions
- 2
•
Paneer
- 25 grams
•
Green chillies
- 2
•
Red chilly powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
Ingredients For Grinding To Paste
•
Garlic
- 6 flakes
•
Coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Poppy seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Ginger
- ½ inch piece
Method
1.
Boil
potatoes
,
peel
and
mash
.
2.
Soak
bread
slices one by one in
water
.
3.
Take out
and squeeze the
water
from slices and
mix
with mashed
potatoes
,
chilly
powder
and
salt
.
4.
Heat
oil
in a '
frying
pan'.
Add
onions
and saute till light brown.
5.
Add
paneer
,
fry
for a while, then
add
chopped
green chillies
,
red chilly powder
and
salt
to
taste
.
6.
Keep
aside.
7.
Prepare
small balls from the dough of
bread
and
potatoes
, flatten on the palm.
8. Stuff the filling in the middle and close all around.
9. Deep
fry
these koftas in hot
oil
, till golden brown and
keep
aside.
Method To Make Curry
1.
Heat
little
oil
in a
frying
pan.
2.
Add
onions
and
fry
till golden brown.
3.
Add
ground
masala
and
fry
till it separates from
oil
.
4.
Add
1 Tablespoon of
curd
,
salt
,
red chilly powder
and
turmeric powder
.
5. Saute till
oil
is separated.
6.
Add
another tablespoon of
curd
and continue to
fry
till
oil
is separated.
7.
Mix
tomatoes
and
fry
.
8.
Pour
one cup of
water
and
boil
till the gravy becomes thick.
9.
Add
koftas just before
serving
.
10. Garnish with
coriander leaves
.
