Black Eyed Beans Curry

Ingredients
•
White kidney beans (dry)
- 1 cup
•
Red chillies
- 12
•
Coconut grateds
- ½ cup
•
Garlic
- 10 flakes
•
Tamarind
- lime size
•
Tomatoes
- 2
•
Salt
- as required
•
Garlic pieces (for garnishing)
- 1 teaspoon
Method
1.
Soak
beans
half an hour before.
2.
Boil
in pressure cooker with enough
water
till first whistle comes.
3.
Fry
red chillies
in
oil
and
grind
it along with coconut,
garlic
and
tamarind
, with little cooked
beans
with it.
4. Blanch
tomatoes
and squeeze the pulp.
5.
Add
ground
mixture
to boiled
beans
with enough
water
,
salt
and
tomatoes
.
6.
Cook
till thick.
7.
Crush
few
garlic pieces
and
fry
in
oil
till brown and
pour
over the gravy.
8.
Remove
from fire and
serve
hot.
