Baked Channa Masala

Ingredients
•
White kabuli channas
- 1 cup
•
Onions (chopped)
- 2
•
Oil
- 2 tablespoons
•
Salt
- as required
•
Pepper
- as required
•
Chilly powder
- as required
•
Potatoes (cubed & deep fried)
- 2
Ingredients For Making Chutney (grinding Together)
•
Coriander leaves
- 1 bunch
•
Mint leaves
- 1 bunch
•
Green chillies
- 3
•
Cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Sugar
- 1 teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Lime juice
- 1 teaspoon
Ingredients For Making Sweet And Sour Sauce
•
Channa water
- 1 cup
•
Tamarind
- lime size
•
Jaggery
- as required
•
Salt
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Chilly powder
- ½ teaspoon
Method
1.
Soak
channa
overnight and pressure
cook
.
2.
Heat
ghee or
oil
and
fry
onions
til brown.
3.
Add
channa
and all the other powders.
4.
Remove
from fire.
Method To Bake
1. Grease a
baking
dish.
2. Arrange
channa
over it, put chutney and fried
potato
cubes on top, put again the remaining
channa
.
3.
Make
the sweet and sour sauce by taking
tamarind
juice
,
add
Jaggery
,
chilly powder
and
salt
.
Boil
until thick and glossy.
4.
Pour
sweet and sour sauce over the
channa
and
bake
for 20 to 30 minutes in medium
heat
.
5.
Serve
with finely
cut
onions
and
coriander leaves
.
