Avarakai Paruppu Curry

Ingredients
•
Flat bean
- ¼ kg
•
Moong dal
- 2 tablespoons
•
Red chilly
- 4 pieces
•
Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Salt
- ½ teaspoon
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 2 tablespoons
•
Oil (for frying)
- as required
Method
1.
Soak
Moong dal
in
water
for 1 hour.
2.
Grind
it along with
red chilly
,
turmeric powder
and
salt
to
coarse paste
.
3. Put the
coarse paste
in idli mould and steam for 5 minutes till it becomes firm.
4.
Grind
the lentils in a mixie and
keep
aside.
5.
Cut
flat beans
into small pieces and
cook
till soft.
Drain
excess
water
.
6.
Heat
oil
in a deep curved pan,
add
mustard and
fry
cooked
beans
for 1 or 2 minutes.
7. Then
add
the steamed lentils with more
oil
, and
fry
in reduced flame till dry,
stirring
in between.
8.
Add
grated
coconut
and
serve
.
