Apple Peda

Ingredients
•
Milk
- 1 liter
•
Saffron
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Sugar (powdered)
- 1 cup
•
Kesar colours
- a pinch
•
Red food colors
- 1 teaspoon
•
Cloves (for decoration)
- a few
Method
1.
Heat
milk
in a broad, heavy kadai
stirring
constantly, till it is reduced to ¾ of its consistency.
Remove
from fire.
2. If necessary
add
little
kesar colour
.
3. Take it out and knead to a stiff dough on top of a greased platform.
4. Shape kesar peda
mixture
like small apples.
5. Press on top lightly to obtain proper apple shape.
6.
Mix
little orange red
colour
in little
milk
.
7. Using a painting brush or cotton, apply
colour
on top of apple shaped pedas.
8.
Add
little finely chopped nuts as a stuffing while shaping as a variation.
9. Put finely chopped pistha on top of each peda.
