Ajwaini Chicken

Ingredients
•
Chicken (prepare: cut into 6-8 pieces or 8 drumsticks)
- 1

Dahi/Yogurt
- ½ cup
•
Ajwain/Carom seeds
- 2 teaspoons
•
Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tablespoon
•
Coarsely crushed red chillies
- ¾ tablespoon
•
Cream/Malai (fresh, thick)
- ½ cup
•
Salt
- as required
•
Oil
- 3 tablespoons
•
Green coriander (chopped, fresh)
- ½ cup
Method
1.
Marinate
the
chicken
with
curd
,
ajwain
,
ginger-garlic paste
, red
chillies
and
salt
for ½ hour.
2.
Heat
oil
in a pressure cooker.
3.
Add
the
chicken
pieces leaving behind the
marinade
.
4.
Cook
on high flame till the
chicken
turns brown and all the juices
get
absorbed.
5. Do not overlap the pieces of
chicken
while browning.
6. Lower the
heat
.
Add
the
marinade
which is left behind and 1 cup of
water
.
Cover
and
cook
to give 2 whistles.
7.
Remove
from fire and drop the pressure by putting
cold water
on the lid of the cooker.
8. Return to
heat
and
add
cream
and
coriander
.
Stir
fry
till the
chicken
is dry and coated with
coriander
.
Serve
hot.
