Ingredients

Ladies finger

Onion bigs

Tamarind extract (thick)
- 3 tablespoons

Thuar dal (cooked)
- 2 tablespoons
•
Salt
- as required
•
Turmeric powder
- ¼ teaspoon
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Oil
- 1 tablespoon
•
Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Fenugreek
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Asafoetidas
- a pinch
•
Curry leaves
- few
•
Coriander leaves
- a little
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Red chillies
- 10
•
Fenugreek
- 1 teaspoon
•
Bengal gram dal
- 1 tablespoon
•
Garlic
- 3 flakes
•
Onions/Big onions (small)
- ½ cup
•
Coconut (grated)
- 1 ½ tablespoons
Method
1.
Fry
the "For
Grinding
together"
spices
in little
oil
and
grind
with 1½ Tablespoon of grated fresh
coconut
.
2.
Peel
and
slice
onions
length-wise.
3.
Cut
ladies finger
into 1 ½ inch pieces
4.
Heat
little
oil
and
fry
onions
and
ladies finger
together for few minutes.
5.
Add
diluted
tamarind extract
and
cook
till
vegetable
becomes soft.
6.
Add
mashed
thuar dal
,
salt
,
ground paste
with enough
water
.
7.
Cook
till raw flavour is lost and the gravy becomes thick.
8.
Fry
the
seasonings
in
oil
and
mix
with Sambar.
9. Garnish with
coriander leaves
.
