Horse grams
- ½ cup

Garlic
- 6 flakes
•
Onion (big, cubed)
- 1

Salt
- as required
•
Curry leaves
- few
•
Oil (for seasoning & frying)
- as required
•
Tamarind
- lemon size
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Jaggery
- as required
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Cumin
- ½ teaspoon
•
Pepper
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Red chillies
- 4
•
Asafoetidas
- a little
•
Black grams
- ½ teaspoon
•
Bengal grams
- ½ teaspoon
•
Horse grams (cooked)
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Coconut (grated)
- 2 tablespoons
Method
1.
Fry
the "For
Grinding
together"
spices
in little
oil
and
grind
with 2 Tablespoon of
coconut
.
2. Dry
roast
½ cup of
horse gram
. Pressure
cook
till soft.
3.
Heat
a pressure pan with little
oil
,
add
little
mustard seeds
, broken
red chillies
,
garlic
and then
onion
.
4.
Fry
for l or 2 minutes,
add
ground paste
and
stir
till good smell comes from that.
5.
Add
cooked
horse gram
.
6. Allow to cool, open lid,
add
tamarind
extract,
salt
,
jaggery
and
boil
for 1 or 2 minutes.
7. Garnish with
curry leaves
.
