Tomato Bhath 2

Ingredients

• • Rice - 1 cup
• • Onions - 2
• • Tomatoes - 6
• • Oil - 2 tablespoons
• • Salt - as required
• • Curry leaves - few
• • Coriander leaves (cut) - 1 ½ tablespoons

Ingredients For Seasoning

• • Mustard seeds - ¼ teaspoon
• • Black gram dal - ½ teaspoon
• • Bengal gram dal - 1 teaspoon
• • Cashew nuts (broken) - 1 tablespoon

Ingredients For Grinding Together

• • Coconut (scraped) - ¼ cup
• • Onions (small) - 8
• • Garlic - 4 flakes
• • Ginger - ½ inch piece
• • Cinnamon - 1 piece
• • Cardamom - 1
• • Cloves - 2
• • Green chillies - 8

Method

• 1. Cut onions and tomatoes into fine pieces.
• 2. Cook rice and allow it to cool.
• 3. Heat oil in frying pan, add seasonings and then fry with onions.
• 4. When it becomes transparent add tomatoes and fry till it becomes soft.
• 5. Continue frying in medium flame with the ground masala paste.
• 6. Add salt and cooked rice.
• 7. Fry in a high flame till rice becomes hot.
• 8. Garnish with cut coriander leaves and curry leaves.
