Tomato Bhath 1

Ingredients
•
Rice
- 1 cup
•
Onions
- 2
•
Tomatoes
- 6
•
Green peas (fresh)
- ¼ cup
•
Green chillies
- 7
•
Garam masala powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Oil
- 2 tablespoons
•
Ghee
- 1 teaspoon
•
Curry leaves
- 1 tablespoon
•
Coriander leaves (for garnishing)
- a few
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Black gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Bengal gram dal
- ½ teaspoon
•
Cashew nuts (broken)
- 1 tablespoon
Method
1.
Cook
rice
till each grain is separate.
2.
Spread
over abroad plate and allow it to cool.
3.
Cut
onions
into fine pieces.
4. Blanch
tomatoes
in
hot water
for few minutes.
5.
Remove
skin and
grind
into pulp.
6.
Strain
and
remove
the
seeds
.
7.
Cut
green chillies
into long pieces.
8.
Heat
ghee
and
oil
in a
frying
pan.
9.
Add
seasonings
,
cut
chillies
and
onion
.
10.
Fry
till transparent and
add
boiled
peas
with
tomato
pulp.
11.
Cook
stirring
constantly in medium flame till moisture evaporates from
tomato
pulp.
12.
Add
salt
, sugar and
garam masala powder
.
13.
Mix
cooled
rice
to this and
fry
in high flame for few minutes till
rice
becomes hot.
14. Garnish with
cut
coriander leaves
and
curry leaves
.
Variation
•
Cut
tomatoes
also into fine pieces instead of
making
juice and do the same recipe.
•
Add
grated fresh coconut at the end.
• Use few
green chillies
and half a Teaspoon of
chilly
powder
.
