Ingredients

Rice (raw)
- 1 cup
•
Thuar dal
- ½ cup
•
Water
- 6 cups
•
Salt
- as required
•
Ghee
- 2 tablespoons
•
Onions (small)
- ½ cup
•
Garlic
- 7 flakes
•
Red chillies
- 6
•
Pepper
- 1 teaspoon
•
Cumin seeds
- 1 ½ teaspoons
•
Oil
- 1 ½ teaspoons
•
Curry leaves
- 2 sprigs
•
Ginger (grated)
- 1 teaspoon
Method
1.
Heat
oil
in a pressure pan.
2.
Add
garlic
,
onion
and
fry
well.
3.
Mix
broken
red chilly
,
pepper
,
cumin seeds
,
curry leaves
and
ginger
to that.
Pour
measured
water
.
4.
Add
required
salt
.
5. When
water
starts
boiling
add
washed
rice
, and
dal
.
6. Allow to
boil
again,
mix
well and close with the lid.
7.
Keep
under low flame for 10 minutes.
8. After opening the lid
add
ghee
,
mix
gently and
serve
hot.
