Thuar Dal Idli - 2

Ingredients
•
Par boiled rice
- 2 cups
•
Thuar dal
- 1 cup
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 2 tablespoons
•
Green chillies
- 6
•
Asafoetidas
- a pinch
•
Oil (for seasoning)
- 2 teaspoons
•
Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Cooking soda
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Rock salt
- 1 ½ teaspoons
Method
1.
Soak
rice
and
dal
together for 2 to 3 hours.
2.
Grind
it along with
coconut
,
chillies
,
asafoetida
to fine rawa consistency.
3. Allow it to ferment for 15 to 20 hours.
4.
Heat
oil
, season with
mustard seeds
and
pour
over the batter with
soda
.
5.
Mix
well and
pour
on greased cooker plate and steam till done.
6.
Serve
hot with coriander chutney.
