Sprouted Green Gram Sundal

Ingredients

Green grams
- 1 cup
•
Coconut (grated)
- 3 tablespoons
Ingredients For The Seasoning
•
Red chillies
- 2
•
Green chilly (finely chopped)
- 1
•
Oil
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Urad dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Curry leaves
- few
•
Hings
- a pinch
Method
1.
Soak
green gram
overnight,
drain
, tie them up in a muslin cloth for another 12-14 hours for them to sprout.
2.
Wash
and pressure
cook
with less
water
,
salt
needed for 1-2 whistles.
3. The
green gram
should be soft but not mashed up.
4.
Drain
any excess
water
.
5.
Heat
a teaspoon of
oil
in a pan,
add
mustard seeds
, when it splutters,
add
hing
,
urad dal
,
red chilly
,
curry leaves
and
green chilly
.
6.
Toss
till
dal
changes to golden brown in colour.
7.
Add
the cooked
green gram
, grated
coconut
and
mix
it well. Check for
salt
and
remove
from flame.
