Ingredients

Cucumbers
- 2

Tamarind extract (thick)
- 2 teaspoons

Oil
- 1 teaspoon

Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 2 tablespoons
•
Grams/Chutney dal (roasted)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Green chillies
- 3
•
Red chillies
- 2
•
Asafoetidas
- a pinch
•
Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Jaggery
- a little
(optional)
•
Turmeric powder
- a pinch
•
Cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon
Method
1.
Scrape
outer skin and
slice
the
cucumber
into thin 1 ½ inch long pieces. (Check for bitterness)
2.
Grind
the
ingredients
mentioned to smooth
paste
with minimum
water
possible.
3.
Mix
tamarind extract
after
grinding
.
4. Just before
serving
mix
sliced
cucumber
.
5.
Heat
oil
,
add
mustard seeds
to crackle and
add
it to the pachadi.
