Ingredients
•
Wheat flour
- 1 cup
•
Sugar
- ¾ cup
•
Water
- ½ cup
•
Saffron
- a little
•
Cardamom powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Ghee
- 1 tablespoon
•
Oil (for deep frying)
- as required
Method
1.
Heat
sugar
and
water
together till it reaches one string consistency.
2.
Remove
from fire
add
cardamom powder
,
saffron
,
ghee
and
wheat flour
.
3.
Stir
briskly till it becomes thick like chapati dough consistency.
4. Knead well when it becomes lukewarm.
5.
Prepare
marble sized balls from the dough and
roll
out into thin chapatis.
6. Press three chapatis together like a pile.
7. Deep
fry
in hot
oil
till golden brown.
8. While
removing
from
oil
it will be soft to touch. After few minutes it becomes crisp.
9. Instead of
keeping
the chapatis as a pile, fold each chapatis into four like a triangle and then deep
fry
.
