Sago Sweet Pongal

Ingredients
•
Sagos (small, fried lightly using ghee)
- 1 cup
•
Water
- 3 cups
•
Milk
- 2 cups
•
Condensed milk
- 1
•
Cream (fresh)
- ¼ cup
•
Green gram dal (roasted and cooked)
- ¼ cup
•
Ghee
- 1 tablespoon
•
Cashew nuts (fried)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Kismis (fried)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Cardamom powder
- ¼ teaspoon
Method
1.
Heat
water
in a pot or vessel.
2. When it starts to
boil
,
add
washed
sago
.
3.
Cook
until
sago
turns transparent and soft.
Remove
from fire. After a minute
drain
the excess
water
which stands on top of
sago
.
4.
Mix
cooked
sago
with
milk
, cooked
green gram dal
and
condensed milk
.
5.
Cook
for few more minutes until moisture evaporates and pongal consistency is obtained.
6.
Remove
form fire.
Add
cream
,
ghee
, fried
cashew nuts
,
kismis
and
cardamom powder
.
Mix
well.
