Roasted Gram Sambar

Ingredients
•
Onions (small)
- ½ cup
•
Tomatoes
- 3
•
Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Sugar/Jaggery
- as required
(optional)
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Coriander leaves
- a little
•
Curry leaves
- 1 sprig
Ingredients For Frying & Grinding Together

Dhania
- 1 teaspoon
•
Red chillies
- 8
Ingredients For Grinding Separately
•
Bengal grams (roasted)
- 1 ½ tablespoons
Method
1.
Chop
onions
and
tomatoes
.
2.
Heat
little
oil
and season with little
mustard seeds
.
3.
Add
onions
and then
tomatoes
.
4.
Fry
well and
pour
water
with
salt
and
turmeric
.
5.
Boil
till raw flavour is lost.
6.
Add
ground
mixture
of
dhania
and
chillies
.
7.
Boil
for few more minutes.
8. Just before
removing
from fire
add
gram
powder
which is made into a
paste
with
water
.
9. Garnish with
curry leaves
and
coriander leaves
.
