Rice Flakes Sweet Pongal

Ingredients
•
Rice flakes/Pohas (fried in ghee)
- 1 cup
•
Coconut milk
- 2 cups
•
Green gram dal (cooked)
- ½ cup
•
Sugar (powdered)
- 1 cup
•
Saffron (soaked in warm milk)
- as required
•
Cinnamon powder
- 2 pinches
•
Cloves (fried in ghee)
- 5
•
Kismis (fried in ghee)
- as required
•
Almonds
- as required
•
Ghee
- 2 tablespoons
•
Kesar colour
- 2 pinches
Method
1.
Spread
rice flakes
on a cloth and wipe well to
remove
dirt.
Fry
it until golden using little
ghee
.
2.
Soak
fried
rice flakes
in
coconut milk
for 10 minutes.
3.
Cook
green gram dal
using 2 cups of
water
, until
dal
splits.
4.
Add
soaked
rice flakes
,
sugar
and
saffron
.
5.
Mix
gently for few minutes in completely reduced flame.
6. When moisture gets absorbed
add
cardamom
powder
, fried
clove
, half of the
kismis
,
almond
and little more
ghee
.
Mix
well and
remove
from fire.
7. Transfer to a
serving
dish. Garnish with fried nuts and
kismis
.
8. Tasty
rice flakes
sweet pongal is ready to
serve
.
