Red Gram Dosa

Ingredients
•
Par boiled rice
- 3 cups
•
Red gram dal/Thuar dal
- ½ cup
•
Black grams (dehusked)
- ½ cup
•
Coconut
- ½
•
Salt
- 3 teaspoons
•
Oil (for frying)
- as required
Method
1.
Soak
both
dal
together for 1 hour and
rice
separately for 2 to 3 hours.
2.
Grind
dal
to smooth frothy
paste
.
3.
Grind
rice
with
coconut
till fine rawa consistency.
4.
Mix
them together with
salt
.
5. Allow to ferment till next day morning.
6.
Pour
dosas in the usual way and
fry
till crisp on both sides using desired
oil
for
frying
.
7.
Serve
hot with '
coconut
-red chutney'.
Variations
•
Add
finely
cut
onions next day and
pour
thick like oothappam.
• Third day
mix
soaked bengal
gram
dal
,
cut
coriander
leaves
and fried, crushed curd chillies and
pour
thick dosas.
