Raw Mango Thokku

Ingredients For Pickle Powder

• • Fenugreek seeds - 1 teaspoon
• • Red chillies - 1 cup

Ingredients For Thokku

• • Sesame seed oil - ¼ cup
• • Mustard seeds - 1 teaspoon
• • Mangoes (grated) - 1 cup
• • Turmeric powder - 1 teaspoon
• • Salt - as required
• • Pickle powder - 1 tablespoon
• • Asafoetida - 1 teaspoon

Method To Make Pickle Powder

• 1. In a pan, heat oil. Add 1 teaspoon of fenugreek seed and 1 cup of dry red chilly.
• 2. Fry until the ingredients starts to turn golden brown.
• 3. Powder roasted ingredients into a fine powder.

Method To Make Thokku

• 1. In a pan, heat sesame seed oil. Add mustard seeds and wait until they start to splutter.
• 2. Add grated mango, turmeric powder, salt, pickle powder and asafoetida.
• 3. Cook until the mango has cooked well and the oil separates.
• 4. Store it in a dry container and refrigerate it. Serve as an accompaniment!
