Quick Rasam

Ingredients

Tamarind
- lemon size
•
Water
- 5 cups
•
Curry leaves
- few
•
Salt
- as required
•
Jaggery
- as required
Ingredients For Frying Together In Ghee
•
Thuar dal
- 1 tablespoon
•
Red chillies
- 8
•
Pepper
- ½ teaspoon
•
Cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Fenugreek
- 1 teaspoon
•
Asafoetidas
- a pinch
Method
1.
Soak
tamarind
in
water
for ½ an hour.
2. Squeeze, extract and dilute with
water
to
make
5 cups.
3.
Add
salt
,
jaggery
,
curry leaves
and
boil
for 1 or 2 minutes till raw flavour is lost.
4.
Fry
the
spices
in ghee and
pour
over rasam,
boil
once and
remove
from fire.
5. Close with lid immediately.
6.
Serve
hot with cooked rice.
