Prawn Tikka

Ingredients
•
Prawns (cleaned, shelled, deveined)
- 8
•
Dahi/Yogurt
- ½ cup
•
Malai/Cream
- 2 tablespoons
•
Jaiphals/Nutmeg powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Garam masala
- 1 teaspoon
•
Chilly powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
White pepper powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Salt
- 1 teaspoon
•
Egg
- 1
•
Oil (for basting)
- as required
•
Chaat masala (for sprinkling on top)
- a pinch
•
Lemon juice (for sprinkling on top)
- a little
Method
1.
Wash
prawns
and pat dry. Apply
lemon juice
and
salt
put aside for ½ hour.
2. For the
marinade
,
mix
together
dahi
,
malai
,
jaiphal
,
garam masala
,
chilly powder
,
white pepper powder
, and
egg
.
3.
Marinate
prawns
in this for 2 hours
Roast
under a
grill
or over hot charcoals for 5-7 minutes or until done,
basting
with
oil
just once.
4. Do not overcook, as
prawns
become hard and dry to
taste
.
5. Sprinkle
lemon juice
and
chaat masala
and
serve
.
