Pesarattu Dosa

Ingredients

• • Whole green grams (with skin) - 1 cup
• • Rice (raw) - 2 tablespoons
• • Jeera - 1 teaspoon
• • Green chillies - 3
• • Ginger - 1 inch
• • Asafoetida - 1 teaspoon
• • Salt - as required
• • Water - as required
• • Oil - as required

Ingredients For Topping

• • Onions (finely cut) - ¾ cup
• • Coconut (grated) - ½ cup

Method

• 1. Soak green gram and rice together for atleast 6 hours in sufficient water.
• 2. Grind soaked green gram, soaked rice, jeera, green chillies, ginger, asafoetida, salt with sufficient water into a fine smooth paste.
• 3. Heat a dosa pan. Pour dosa in the middle and spread evenly using a spatula into a round circle.
• 4. Drizzle oil on the top of the dosa.
• 5. Add finely cut onions and grated coconut on top of the dosa.
• 6. When the dosa has become crisp, fold and remove from the heat.
• 7. Serve hot with chutney. Enjoy!

Variation - Pesaru Upma

• • Prepare dosa as mentioned previously.
• • Do not add onions.
• • Fry on both sides till crisp.
• • Place 2 tablespoons of rawa upma inside the dosa.
• • Serve hot with chutney.
