Onion Tomato Kuzhambu

- 1 tablespoon

Ingredients For Seasoning

Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Urad dal
- 1 teaspoon
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Red chillies
- 8
•
Coriander seeds
- 2 teaspoons
•
Aniseeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Ginger
- ½ inch piece
•
Garlic
- 3 flakes
•
Cashew nuts
- 10
•
Poppy seeds (dry roast separately)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- ½ cup
Method
1.
Fry
the "For
Grinding
together"
ingredients
in little
oil
and
grind
with ½ cup grated fresh
coconut
.
2.
Dice
tomatoes
into big pieces. (discard green portions if any)
3.
Peel
garlic
,
onion
and
slice
lengthwise.
4.
Heat
oil
,
add
seasonings
,
garlic
and then
onions
.
5.
Fry
till transparent.
6.
Add
ground paste
,
salt
, diced
tomatoes
with enough
water
and
cook
till
tomatoes
become soft.
7. Garnish with
curry leaves
.
