Urad dal
- ½ cup
•
Bengal gram dal
- ½ cup
•
Thuar dal
- ½ cup
•
Green gram dal
- ½ cup
•
Salt
- as required
•
Ginger
- 1 inch piece
•
Green chillies
- 4
•
Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Curry leaves
- 1 sprig
•
Cashew nuts
- 1 tablespoon
•
Cucumber seeds (dehusked)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Melon seeds
- 1 tablespoon
•
Oil (for deep frying)
- as required
Method
1.
Wash
and
soak
dal
varieties together for 2 hours.
2.
Grind
ginger
,
chillies
and
salt
in a blender.
3.
Add
drained
dal
varieties and
grind
to a
coarse paste
.
4.
Add
coriander leaves
,
curry leaves
,
cashew nuts
,
cucumber seeds
,
melon seeds
and
mix
well.
5.
Prepare
lemon size balls flatten with fingers by patting on top on a plastic sheet and put it in hot
oil
.
6. Deep
fry
until crisp and golden by turning once gently in the
oil
while
frying
.
7.
Drain
on a colander and then
serve
.
