Ingredients

Carrot (tender)
- ¼ kg
•
Onions peeleds (small)
- 12
•
Green chillies (slit lengthwise)
- 3
•
Tamarind extract (thick)
- 3 tablespoons
•
Salt
- as required
•
Sambar powder
- 3 teaspoons
•
Thuar dal (cooked)
- ½ cup
•
Curry leaves (for garnishing)
- 1 sprig
•
Coriander leaves (for garnishing)
- a little
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Urad dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Oil
- 2 teaspoons
Method
1.
Scrape
outer skin of
carrots
and
slice
into thin round pieces.
2.
Keep
carrots
, onions on top container while pressure
cooking
dal
.
3. To prevent onions from over
cooking
keep
it in a small air tight box along with
carrots
.
4.
Add
tamarind extract
,
salt
,
green chillies
, cooked
vegetable
,
Sambar powder
to mashed
dal
and dilute with enough
water
.
5.
Cook
till desired consistency is reached.
6.
Add
seasonings
,
curry leaves
,
coriander leaves
just before
removing
from fire.
7.
Serve
hot with cooked rice.
