Mor Rasam

Ingredients

• • Yogurt - 1 cup
• • Turmeric powder - ¼ teaspoon
• • Salt - as required

Ingredients For Grinding

• • Thuar dal - 2 teaspoons
• • Pepper - ¼ teaspoon
• • Coriander seeds - ½ teaspoon
• • Cumin seeds - 1 teaspoon

Ingredients For Seasoning

• • Oil - 1 teaspoon
• • Mustard seeds - ¼ teaspoon
• • Red chillies (dry) - 2
• • Curry leaves - 2 sprigs
• • Asafoetida - 1 pinch

Method

• 1. Dry roast thuar dal, pepper, coriander seeds and cumin seeds until golden brown.
• 2. Allow them to cool and grind them in a mixer grinder to a fine powder.
• 3. Take a mixing bowl, add curd and beat well until smooth and add one more cup of water.
• 4. Mix the ground ingredients with the curd.
• 5. Transfer curd mixture to a vessel, allow it to cook until one boil.
• 6. When bubbles start appearing, switch it off.
• 7. Finally season with items given in the list for seasoning.
