Ingredients
•
Bottle gourds (grated)
- ½ cup
•
Gram flour
- 1 cup
•
Rice flour
- 2 teaspoons
•
Onions (minced)
- ½ cup
•
Green chillies (finely chopped)
- 4
•
Garlic (chopped)
- 3 cloves
•
Ginger (chopped)
- 1 teaspoon
•
Asafoetidas
- a pinch
•
Red chilly powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Coriander leaves (fresh, chopped)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Oil (for deep frying)
- as required
Method
1.
Add
salt
to the grated
bottle gourd
,
mix
well and set aside for 15-20 minutes.
2. Squeeze the
gourd
and transfer to a bowl.
3.
Add
gram flour
,
rice flour
,
onion
,
garlic
,
green chillies
,
asafoetida
,
red chilly powder
,
turmeric powder
,
coriander leaves
and
salt
.
Mix
well.
4.
Add
a little
water
and
mix
well to
make
a smooth batter.
5.
Heat
oil
in a pan.
6. Drop small portions of batter into the
oil
and
deep-fry
on medium
heat
.
7. Once it turns slightly brown color
remove
it from the
oil
.
8.
Drain
on absorbent paper.
Serve
hot with tomato ketchup.
