Bengal gram dal
- ½ cup

Thuar dal
- ½ cup

Urad dal
- ¼ cup
•
Rice (raw)
- ¼ cup
•
Salt
- as required
•
Red chillies
- 8
•
Coconut (grated)
- ½ cup
•
Curry leaves
- 1 sprig
•
Coriander leaves (chopped)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Green chillies
- 3
•
Oil (for frying)
- as required
•
Asafoetida
- ¼ teaspoon
Method
1.
Soak
rice
and
dal
varieties together for 2 hours.
2. Put
red chilly
,
salt
,
asafoetida
in a mixie and run at low speed once and then
add
soaked
dal
.
Grind
to a
coarse paste
.
3.
Add
grated
coconut
, finely chopped
green chilly
,
coriander leaves
,
curry leaves
and
mix
well.
4.
Heat
oil
in a deep pan.
5. Take small quantity from the
mixture
in right hand and put it in the hot
oil
, like small irregular shaped balls.
6.
Fry
until golden brown, and
serve
hot.
