Ingredients
•
Urad dal
- 1 cup
•
Rice flakes/Pohas
- 2 tablespoons
•
Salt
- as required
•
Rice
- 2 teaspoons
•
Onions (finely chopped)
- ½ cup
•
Amaranth leaves (finely chopped)
- 1 cup
•
Oil (for frying)
- as required
•
Green chillies
- 3
•
Ginger
- 1 inch piece
Method
1.
Grind
green chilly
and
ginger
together.
Keep
aside
2.
Wash
and
soak
rice flakes
and
urad dal
for 15 minutes.
3.
Drain
well and
grind
into smooth thick frothy
paste
.
4.
Add
salt
when it is half done.
5.
Add
ginger
green chilly
paste
,
onion
,
amaranth leaves
and
mix
well.
6. Pat like
urad dal
vada on a wet plastic sheet or banana
leaf
using wet hands.
7.
Make
a small hole in the centre.
8. Slip it in hot
oil
gently and deep
fry
until golden brown.
