How to make Sambar Powder (Kerala & Tamil Nadu)

Ingredients
•
Red chillies
- 3 cups
•
Dhania/Coriander seeds
- 2 cups
•
Bengal gram dal
- ¼ cup
•
Thuar dal
- ¼ cup
•
Black pepper
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Turmeric root (dry)
- 1 piece
Method
1. Dry all the
ingredients
under hot sun till dry and then
powder
it.
2.
Preserve
in dry, airtight bottles or
roast
each ingredient separately and
powder
together.
Note
• 1 or 2 Teaspoons of fenugreek can be added.
• Dry
roast
it and
powder
with other
ingredients
.
