How to make Sambar Powder (Andhra)

Ingredients
•
Red chillies
- 1 cup
•
Coriander seeds
- ½ cup
•
Urad dal
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Bengal gram dal
- 2 tablespoons
•
Coconut (grated, dry)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Sesame seeds
- 2 teaspoons
•
Curry leaves
- 2 sprigs
•
Ghee (for frying)
- as required
Method
1.
Melt
ghee
in a deep
frying
pan,
add
red chillies
,
coriander seeds
,
urad
,
bengal gram dal
and
fry
till it turns golden yellow.
2.
Add
sesame seeds
,
curry leaves
,
coconut
at the end and
fry
for a minute.
3. Allow it to cool to room temperature and
powder
coarsely in a mixie.
4.
Preserve
in air tight container and use within 3 weeks.
