Ingredients

Red pumpkin

Sweet potato

Oil (for seasoning)
- as required

Salt
- as required
•
Tamarind (soaked & extracted)
- lime size
•
Jaggery
- 1 teaspoon
•
Curry leaves
- 1 sprig
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Black gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Bengal gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Pepper
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Asafoetidas
- a pinch
•
Red chillies
- 8
•
Poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- ¼ cup
Method
1.
Fry
"For
Grinding
together"
spices
in little
oil
till golden and then
grind
with 1 Teaspoon of
poppy seeds
and ¼ cup of grated fresh
coconut
.
2.
Cut
pumpkin
and
sweet potato
with skin into l½ inch squares.
3.
Cook
them in enough
water
till soft.
4.
Mix
them together with
ground paste
,
salt
,
jaggery
and
tamarind
extract.
5.
Cook
till gravy becomes thick.
6. Garnish with
curry leaves
and
serve
hot with rice.
