Green Peas Vada

Ingredients

Green peas (dry)
- 1 cup
•
Rice flakes/Pohas
- 1 cup
•
Ginger
- ¼ inch piece
•
Red chillies
- 2
•
Green chillies
- 4
•
Cabbages (finely cut)
- 1 cup
•
Coriander leaves (finely cut)
- 2 tablespoons
•
Salt
- as required
•
Oil (for frying)
- as required
•
Asafoetida
- ¼ teaspoon
Method
1.
Soak
green peas
for 8 hours.
2.
Wash
rice flakes
well and squeeze to
remove
excess moisture. (If it is thick
rice flakes
,
soak
for 1 hour)
3.
Grind
salt
,
red chilly
,
asafoetida
in a mixie and then
add
soaked
peas
and
grind
coarsely.
4.
Add
squeezed
rice flakes
grind
once to
mix
with
peas
.
5.
Grind
ginger
, green chilli separately and
mix
with that.
6.
Add
coriander leaves
,
cabbage
and
mix
well. Pat like
masala
vada and put it in hot
oil
. Deep
fry
until crisp, in medium flame.
7.
Serve
hot with chutney.
