Green Gram Dal Kichadi

Ingredients

Rice
- 1 cup
•
Green gram dal
- 1/3 cup
•
Preserved chillies/Vatrals
- 7
•
Oil
- 2 ½ tablespoons
•
Water
- 3 ½ cups
•
Salt
- as required
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 3 tablespoons
Method
1. Dry
roast
rice
and
dal
separately till light brown in colour.
2.
Heat
pressure cooker,
add
oil
and
fry
broken
chillies
till dark brown in colour.
3.
Add
water
,
salt
, and grated
coconut
.
4. When it starts
boiling
add
rice
and
dal
.
5.
Mix
and pressure
cook
in medium flame for 10 minutes.
6.
Serve
hot.
