Gooseberries in Brine

Ingredients
•
Gooseberry (big)
- 1 kg
•
Salt
- ½ cup
•
Water
- 3 cups
•
Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Green chillies
- 15
•
Ginger
- 50 grams
•
Lemon
- 1
•
Sesame oil
- 2 teaspoons
Method
1.
Scrape
outer skin and
cut
ginger
into thin rounds.
2. Select even sized
green chilly
,
wash
and dry over a cloth to
remove
excess moisture.
3.
Wash
gooseberries
and dry over a cloth. Prick around using a fine, clean needle.
4.
Heat
water
with
salt
and
turmeric powder
. Allow to
boil
until
salt
dissolves completely.
5.
Add
gooseberries
and
take out
from fire immediately.
6. Allow to cool and put it in a dry bottle or jar.
7.
Mix
green chilly
,
ginger
,
sesame oil
and
lemon
juice to that.
8. Allow to
soak
for few days.
9.
Mix
with a dry laddie once everyday until
gooseberries
absorb the
spices
.
