French Egg Casserole

Ingredients
•
Eggs (hard boiled, prepare: cut length wise into halves)
- 3
•
Onions (prepare: sliced and deep fried to a golden brown colour)
- 2
•
Peas (boiled)
- ½ cup
•
Bread crumbs (dry)
- 2 tablespoons
Ingredients For White Sauce (thin Sauce)
•
Butter
- 3 tablespoons
•
Maida
- 3 tablespoons
•
Milk
- 3 ½ cups
•
Cheese (grated)
- 25 grams
•
Salt
- as required
•
Pepper
- as required
•
Red chilly powder
- ½ teaspoon
(optional)
Method
1.
Prepare
the white sauce by
melting
butter
in a heavy bottomed pan.
2.
Add
maida
and
stir
for a minute.
Remove
from fire.
3.
Add
the
milk
,
stirring
continuously. Return to fire.
4.
Cook
,
stirring
continuously till slightly thick.
5.
Add
cheese
,
salt
&
pepper
to
taste
.
6.
Remove
from fire and
keep
the white sauce aside.
7. To assemble the casserole, arrange a
layer
of fried
onion
to
cover
the bottom of the
baking
dish.
8. Arrange
eggs
on it.
9.
Mix
boiled
peas
with the prepared white sauce.
10.
Pour
the white sauce over the
eggs
.
11. Dredge with
bread crumbs
.
12.
Bake
for about 10 minutes, on the top rack of a hot oven till the dish gets browned.
13.
Serve
hot with buttered toasts.
