Flavoured Spice Chicken

Ingredients

Chicken (cut into 8-6 pieces)
- 800 grams
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Saunfs/Aniseeds
- 2 tablespoons
•
Jeera/Cumin seeds
- 1 tablespoon
•
Saboot dhania/Coriander seeds
- 1 tablespoon
•
Saboot kali mirches/Peppercorns
- 6
•
Dalchini/Cinnamon stick
- 2 inches
•
Laungs/Cloves
- 6
Other Ingredients
•
Oil
- 4 tablespoons
•
Sugar
- ½ tablespoon
•
Hings
- ½ teaspoon
•
Chilly powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Curd (thick)
- ½ cup
Method
1. Dry
grind
saunf
,
jeera
,
saboot dhania
,
saboot kali mirch
,
dalchini
and
laung
to a
powder
.
Keep
aside.
2.
Heat
oil
in a pressure cooker.
3.
Add
hing
powder
and
sugar
.
Stir
till brown.
4.
Add
the
chicken
pieces and
cook
on high flame till
chicken
changes colour and turns brown.
5. Do not overlap the pieces to brown the
chicken
well on both sides.
6.
Add
chilly powder
, freshly ground
spice
powder
and
salt
.
Stir
.
7.
Add
the dahi.
Stir
and
add
½ cup
water
. Pressure
cook
to give 2 whistles.
8.
Remove
from fire. Drop the pressure immediately after the second whistle by putting some
cold water
on the lid of the cooker.
9.
Keep
the cooker on fire again, without the lid and dry the excess
water
till the
masala
coats the
chicken
pieces.
10. Garnish with fresh
coriander
and
serve
.
