Ingredients

Milk
- 250 milliliters
•
Butter
- 30 grams
•
Sugar
- 55 grams
•
Eggs
- 2
•
Cashew nuts
- ½ cup
•
Raisins/Kismis
- ½ cup
•
Bread (fresh)
- 100 grams
•
Jam
- 30 grams
•
Lime rinds
- a little
Ingredients For Meringue
•
Egg whites
- 2
•
Salt
- a pinch
•
Sugar (powdered)
- ¾ cup
•
Lemon essence
- a little
Method
1.
Cut
bread
into cubes.
2. Arrange in a dish,
spread
cashew nut
and
kismis
on top, again with
bread
as layers till complete
bread
is over.
3.
Remove
egg
yolks separately.
4. Beat yolks,
milk
,
sugar
and
essence
.
5.
Pour
this on top of
bread
layer
.
6.
Soak
for 10 to 15 minutes. (
Add
butter
, to hot
milk
cool and then beat)
7.
Bake
this on moderate oven for 30 minutes or till brown on top.
8. Apply
jam
on top.
Method To Make Meringue
1.
Powder
sugar
coarsely.
2. Beat
egg whites
, till stiff with a
pinch
of
salt
.
3. Beat half of the
sugar
with this.
4.
Mix
other half after beating.
5.
Add
essence
and
mix
gently.
6. Apply this on top of the baked pudding and
bake
again till the meringue turns partly brown.
7. Cool and
serve
, with custard.
