Dal Sago Payasam

Ingredients
•
Green gram dal
- 1 cup
•
Sagos
- ¼ cup
•
White jaggery (grated)
- 1 ½ cups
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 2 cups
•
Salt
- a pinch
•
Ghee
- 1 tablespoon
•
Ginger powder (dry)
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Cardamom powder
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Cashew nuts
- 1 tablespoon
•
Kismis
- 1 tablespoon
Method
1. Dry
roast
dal
and
sago
separately.
2.
Cook
both separately using just enough
water
.
3.
Add
water
to grated
coconut
,
grind
and take 2 extracts and
keep
them separately.
4.
Add
little
water
to
jaggery
and
heat
till it is dissolved.
5.
Strain
and
remove
dirt using a thin muslin cloth or sieve.
6.
Mix
second extract of
coconut
to cooked dhal and
heat
in medium flame.
7.
Stir
in between and
mix
sago
, diluted
jaggery
,
salt
and then first extract of
coconut
.
8. When it comes to
boiling
point
remove
from fire.
9.
Add
fried nuts,
spice
powder
and
mix
well and
serve
.
