Corn Pulao

Ingredients

Ghee
- 2 tablespoons

Bay leaves
- 2

Star anises
- 2
•
Cloves
- ½ teaspoon

Cinnamon stick
- 1 inch
•
Black pepper
- 1 teaspoon
•
Cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Onions (finely chopped)
- ½ cup
•
Green chillies (slit)
- 2
•
Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon
•
Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Green peas
- ½ cup
•
Corn kernels
- 1 cup
•
Garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Salt
- 1 teaspoon
•
Milk
- 1 cup
•
Water
- 1 cup
•
Basmati rice (prepare: soaked for 30 minutes)
- 1 cup
•
Coriander leaves (finely chopped)
- 2 tablespoons
Method
1. In a pressure cooker
heat
ghee
and
add
bay leaf
,
star anise
,
cloves
,
cinnamon stick
,
black pepper
,
cumin seeds
and saute.
2.
Add
onion
and saute until they becomes translucent.
3.
Add
green chilly
,
ginger-garlic paste
,
turmeric powder
and saute well.
4.
Add
green peas
and
corn kernels
. Saute for a minute.
5.
Add
garam masala powder
and
salt
. Saute again.
6.
Add
soaked
basmati rice
. Saute for a minute.
7.
Add
milk
and
water
.
8. Pressure
cook
for 2 whistles on medium flame.
9.
Add
coriander leaves
and
mix
well.
10.
Serve
with raita.
