Chilly Chana

Ingredients

• • Chanas/Chickpeas (soaked overnight) - ½ cup
• • Water - as required
• • Salt - as required
• • Pepper - ¼ teaspoon
• • Corn flour - 4 teaspoons
• • Oil (for frying) - as required

Ingredients For Sauce

• • Oil - 2 teaspoons
• • Garlic (finely chopped) - 1 teaspoon
• • Ginger (finely chopped) - 1 teaspoon
• • Onions - 1 cup
• • Vinegar - 2 teaspoons
• • Soy sauce - 2 teaspoons
• • Chilly sauce - 2 teaspoons
• • Tomato ketchup - 4 teaspoons
• • Pepper - ½ teaspoon
• • Green chillies (slit) - 2
• • Spring onions - 1 tablespoon

Method

• 1. Pressure cook soaked chana with salt. Keep aside.
• 2. In a bowl - add cooked chana, salt and pepper. Mix well.
• 3. Add corn flour and toss until the chana is coated.
• 4. Deep-fry the chana in oil until slightly brown. Keep aside.
• 5. Add oil to a pan. Add chopped garlic, ginger and onion. Saute for 2 minutes.
• 6. Add vinegar, soy sauce, chilly sauce and tomato ketchup. Mix well.
• 7. Add pepper, green chilly and spring onions. Mix well.
• 8. Add fried chana. Mix well until chana is coated.
