Chicken & Mushroom Casserole

Ingredients

Chicken (boiled & shredded)
- 400 grams
•
Mushroom (chopped)
- 200 grams
•
Onions (chopped)
- 2
•
Bread crumbs (dry)
- 4 tablespoons
Ingredients For White Sauce (thin Sauce)
•
Butter
- 3 tablespoons
•
Maida
- 3 tablespoons
•
Cheese (grated)
- 60 grams
•
Salt
- as required
•
Pepper
- as required
•
Red chilly powder
- ½ teaspoon
(optional)
•
Milk
- 3 cups
Method
1.
Melt
butter
in a heavy bottomed pan.
Add
onion
and
cook
till it turns transparent.
2.
Add
mushrooms
.
Stir
for 2 minutes.
3. Sprinkle
maida
.
Stir
continuously for a minute on low
heat
.
Remove
from fire.
4.
Add
the
milk
,
stirring
continuously. Return to fire.
5.
Cook
,
stirring
continuously till it coats the back of the spoon.
6.
Add
salt
&
pepper
to
taste
.
7.
Add
chicken
and
simmer
for a minute.
8.
Add
grated
cheese
.
Remove
from
heat
.
9. Transfer to a
baking
dish.
10. About 30 minutes before
serving
, sprinkle
bread crumbs
.
11.
Bake
for about 20-30 minutes in a hot oven till the dish gets browned.
12.
Serve
hot with buttered toasts.
