Cauliflower And Peas Bhath

Ingredients

Rice

Onions

Peas (fresh)
- ½ cup

Red chilly powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Salt
- as required
•
Garam masala powder
- ½ teaspoon
•
Coriander leaves (finely cut)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Oil
- 2 tablespoons
•
Lemon
- 1
•
Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Onions (small)
- 7
•
Green chillies
- 4
•
Ginger
- ½ inch
Ingredients For Garnishing
•
Ghee
- 2 teaspoons
•
Cashew nuts (broken)
- 1 ½ tablespoons
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 1 teaspoon
Method
1.
Fry
"For
Grinding
together"
ingredients
in half Teaspoon of
oil
and then
grind
it along with
ginger
2.
Cut
onions
finely.
3. Blanch
tomatoes
in
hot water
for 10 minutes.
4.
Remove
skin,
make
into
paste
and
strain
to
remove
seeds
.
5.
Cut
cauliflower
into small flowerettes, blanch in
hot water
to which little
salt
and
turmeric powder
is added.
6. After few minutes,
drain
water
and deep
fry
cauliflower
till crisp and
keep
aside.
7.
Cook
peas
separately.
8. Pressure
cook
, soaked
rice
in two cups of
water
and allow it to cool.
9. Separate the grains.
10.
Heat
oil
and
fry
onions
till light brown.
11.
Add
ground
masala
paste
and
fry
for two minutes.
12.
Pour
tomato
paste
and
fry
till moisture is absorbed completely.
13.
Add
salt
,
chilly
powder
,
garam masala powder
, cooked
peas
and
mix
well.
14.
Add
cooked
rice
and half of the fried
cauliflower
.
15.
Fry
for few minutes till it becomes hot.
16.
Remove
from fire.
17.
Add
fried
cashew nuts
, squeeze
lemon
and
mix
well.
18. Decorate with rest of the fried
cauliflower
, finely
cut
coriander leaves
and grated fresh
coconut
.
