Ingredients For Making Idli

Par boiled rice
- 3 cups
•
Black grams
- 1 cup
•
Rock salt
- 3 teaspoons
•
Cooking soda
- ¼ teaspoon
Ingredients For Making Cake Idli
•
Lefts over sour idli batter (3 days old)
- 1/3 cup
•
Bengal gram dal
- ¼ cup
•
Green gram dal
- ¼ cup
•
Oil
- as required
•
Coriander leaves
- a few
•
Curry leaves
- 2 sprigs
•
Crushed ginger
- 2 teaspoons
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Green chillies (chopped)
- 2
•
Cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon
•
Curd chillies
- a few
Method To Prepare Cake Idli
1.
Soak
both
Bengal gram dal
and
Green gram dal
together and
grind
to coarse rawa consistency.
2.
Mix
it with the sour idli
batter
with little more
salt
.
3.
Add
finely
cut
coriander leaves
,
curry leave
,
crushed ginger
and grated fresh
coconut
.
4.
Heat
2 table spoons of
oil
and season with
mustard
and
cut
green chillies
.
5.
Pour
over dough with ¼ teaspoon of
cooking
soda
.
6.
Mix
well and steam as big plate idli.
Serve
hot with powdered
mixture
.
7. To
make
powdered
mixture
follow this -
Fry
little
mustard
along with 2 Teaspoons of
cumin seeds
, 1 tablespoon of
black gram
dal
,
curd chillies
,
curry leaves
till its colour is changed. Pound coarsely.
