Cabbage Rice

Rice
- 1 cup
•
Cabbage
- 250 grams
•
Onions
- 2
•
Oil
- 2 ½ tablespoons

Salt (powdered)
- as required
Ingredients For Grinding Together
•
Coconut (grated, fresh)
- ¼ cup
•
Grams (roasted)
- 2 tablespoons
•
Green chillies
- 8
•
Ginger
- ½ inch
•
Coriander leaves
- 1 bunch
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Black gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Bengal gram dal
- ½ teaspoon
•
Cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Red chillies
- 2
•
Cashew nuts
- 8
(optional)
Ingredients For Garnishing
•
Coriander leaves (finely cut)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Curry leaves
- ½ tablespoon
Method
1.
Boil
rice
till each grain is separate.
2. Allow it to cool completely.
3.
Grind
the
masala
paste
with minimum
water
.
4.
Heat
oil
,
add
the
seasonings
and
fry
till golden brown.
5.
Add
finely
cut
onions
and
fry
till crisp.
6. Continue
frying
with shredded
cabbage
till it is cooked.
7.
Pour
the ground
masala
and
fry
till good smell comes.
8.
Add
rice
and
salt
and
fry
in a high flame for few minutes.
9. Garnish with
coriander leaves
and
curry leaves
,
serve
hot.
