Brinjal Thogayal

Ingredients

• • Brinjals - 4
• • Urad dal - 1 tablespoon
• • Red chillies - 3
• • Salt - as required
• • Tamarind paste - 1 teaspoon
• • Asafoetidas - a pinch
• • Oil - as required
• • Mustard seeds - ½ teaspoon

Method

• 1. Fry whole brinjals in little oil in a deep pan by turning well to all sides.
• 2. Outer skin and mash well.
• 3. Fry Red chillies, urad, asafoetida in oil and grind with tamarind, salt.
• 4. Mix mashed pulp at the end and then season.
