Black Gram Dal Rice

Ingredients

Rice
- 1 cup
•
Black gram dal (whole)
- ¼ cup
•
Asafoetidas
- a pinch
•
Green chillies
- 8
•
Oil
- 3 tablespoons
•
Salt
- as required
•
Curry leaves
- few
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Mustard seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Black gram dal
- ½ tablespoon
Method
1.
Cook
rice
and allow it to cool thoroughly.
2. Separate the grains.
3.
Soak
dal
in enough
water
for two hours.
4.
Strain
water
and
grind
coarsely with
green chillies
,
asafoetida
and
salt
.
5.
Heat
oil
,
add
seasonings
and then
ground paste
.
6.
Fry
in medium flame
stirring
constantly for few minutes. (Do not over
fry
)
7.
Mix
with
rice
,
adding
more
salt
if necessary.
8. Garnish with
cut
curry leaves
.
