Ber Rice

Ingredients

Rice
- 1 cup
•
Bers (firm, ripe)
- ½ cup
•
Green chillies
- 12
•
Tamarind
- small lemon size
•
Salt
- as required
•
Oil
- 2 tablespoons
•
Coriander leaves (cut)
- 1 tablespoon
Ingredients For Seasoning
•
Mustard seeds
- ½ teaspoon
•
Black gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Bengal gram dal
- 1 teaspoon
•
Cashew nuts (broken)
- 1 tablespoon
•
Curry leaves
- few
Method
1.
Cook
rice
and allow it to cool.
2. Separate grains.
3.
Soak
tamarind
with very little
water
.
4.
Fry
whole
green chillies
in
oil
till it changes its colour.
5. Select and
wash
ber
properly.
6.
Destone
it and pound (or
grind
) it along with
tamarind
and
chillies
.
7.
Heat
oil
,
add
seasonings
and
pour
over
rice
with enough
salt
.
8.
Fry
the pound
Mixture
in
oil
for two minutes.
9.
Add
to
rice
and
mix
well.
10. Garnish with
cut
coriander leaves
.
