Avakkai Pickle

Ingredients
•
Mangoes (raw, cubed & cut)
- 2 cups
•
Red chilli powder
- 2 tablespoons
•
Mustard powder
- 2 tablespoons
•
Salt
- 1 tablespoon
•
Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon
•
Fenugreek seeds
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Black channas
- ¼ teaspoon
•
Sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons
•
Asafoetidas
- 1 teaspoon
Method
1.
Wash
and dry the
mangoes
. The
mangoes
should be absolutely dry for this pickle.
2.
Chop
the
mangoes
into medium sized cubes along with the
seed
.
3. Take the chopped
mangoes
in a
mixing
bowl.
4. Then,
add
Red chilly
powder
,
Mustard powder
,
Salt
,
Turmeric powder
,
Fenugreek seeds
,
Black channa
,
Sesame oil
and
asafoetida
.
5.
Mix
thoroughly so that the
mangoes
are nicely mixed with the
salt
.
Cover
the
mixing
bowl with a lid and set it aside for 3 days.
6.
Serve
the spicy and hot Avakkai Pickle with curd rice or roti and enjoy!
